Welcome friends! I am so glad you are here! I don't know about you but I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week. I'm so looking forward to spending time with family, eating my Momma's mashed potatoes & gravy, my Mother in Law's dressing, and my Aunt Mary's chocolate pie. Ok, so yes, I'm looking forward to the food a little too.
And then... it's Christmastime y'all!! Today I'd like to share how I'm decorating our DIY mantel here in the sitting room.
Let's begin building with greenery!
First, for the base, I used this garland that we've had for several years. Next, to add variety, this cedar that has length to drape over the mantel. (Slightly bending the edges over the sides.)
Pine branches are the third type of faux greens that I used.
Lastly, eucalyptus branches with a touch of Christmas sparkle. To secure each layer, wrap the original garland (that have wire in them) around the branches.
~A simple bow out of buffalo check ribbon, using floral wire to secure the loops and tucked into the rest of the garland.
~Battery operated LED star lights tucked into the garland.
~Sparkly glass ball ornaments taped underneath the mantel.
~Silent Night sign~ a sign I made a couple of years ago.
~DIY bed railing candle holders. (Painted in Miss Mustard Seed's Milk paint, in Typewriter and sealed with Hemp Oil.
~Gold round mirror~ a Vintage Kirkland's piece.
~Brass Lanterns are from Target.
I had so much fun arranging this space~ mixing DIY's, antiques, new pieces and textures all give a cozy feel. Now to work on the other areas of the house... ;)
My buddy Ted had to get in on the styling action.
This room just needs ornaments on the tree from my babies and lots of family and friends gathered together as we celebrate our Savior's Birth. Looking forward to sharing more of the season with you all.
