Falling for FALL
Yep! It's that time of year when we are surrounded with gorgeous color all around... beautiful deep ruby reds, various shades of pumpkin orange, golden & jeweled toned plump mums... It is fall y'all! Here in Florida, I'll admit, sometimes we need that first bit of cool air before we can really join in the fun. Welp, last night I got into the spirit...
I can't remember the last time I crafted up a Fall wreath, its been a while. There was a time when I would sell these creations when my babies were small... Every kind of wreath from Autumn leaves to Ginger bread. Fun times!
Yesterday, while feeling the need for color and thinking about our bare front porch & door, I decided it was time to make a wreath. The good ol' kind, with a bow and everything. LOL After a trip to Hobby Lobby (Florals are on sale this week friends) I went to work. (If you follow along on Instagram, you saw how I put this together~ I will add it to my Highlights.) Basically starting with a grapevine wreath as the base (Tip~ choose a size that is right for your front door), then greenery (Eucalyptus & magnolia leaves) lastly moving to color and accents (pumpkins.) It was really fun to create.
I'm not a pro but a few tips I like to use when decorating a front porch are:
1. Have a word/theme. (In this case, this large Blessings sign. It's a word that speaks to the heart of what this season is all about to me, and was the right size & went along with my black and white décor.)
2. Use varying heights when placing florals. ~This adds interest and I use this tip in just about every area I'm decorating. (To achieve this, look for chippy stools or wooden crates at yard sales and flea markets.)
3. Add a rug. Somehow it's magic, it grounds a space and gives the whole look a foundation. (Here is a link to my black and white striped rug.) (I also played around with my buffalo check rugs, linked here.)
Thank you so much for stopping in to see this little corner of the porch today. I hope that y'all have a blessed week friends!
Love & Blessings,
