It's feeling like Spring here in Florida these past couple weeks which has made me excited about refreshing all the spaces, especially those outside. Our front porch swing has been on my update list for a while now. Recently a couple friends came by for a visit and thought I should paint it white. It didn't take too much convincing to know they were right.
I bought this swing at an Estate sale for $25 and has been a favorite on the porch but I agreed, it looked pretty tired and dried out.
I decided to try Modern Masters paint in the color Hopeful (white), I purchased it from Hobby Lobby and used a 40% coupon too! This paint is formulated for the front door but I thought I'd try it on the swing and it was a winner!
After a good cleaning and two coats of paint which was great coverage, along with my favorite purdy paint brush... It was painted & ready for phase two. To add some character and texture to the swing, I added this 3/8 inch rope from Home Depot by wrapping it around the chain. It's simply tied in a knot at the top near the ceiling and wrapped around to the base where there's another knot.
For a fun flair for Springtime and Summer I found this artificial grass rug from At Home. I always try and find rugs for our porches that can be easily cleaned. I'm pretty sure Ted liked it too. He's promised me he won't treat it as actual turf... J/K (wink wink)
It's amazing what a quick paint job will do to brighten a space and make it feel more alive and vibrant ~ ready for the season ahead.
Before and After
This Fresh Cut Flowers sign also came from At Home as well as the string lights.
The black and white scatter rug is from Hobby Lobby.
This space feels brighter and more welcoming, ready to embrace all that Spring and Summer will bring. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit the blog today. I appreciate you all.
